As a professional portrait photographer I believe that portraiture has potential to create real value. It grows over time and it becomes priceless. For you it may be just another session, but the images will last them a lifetime. The people reaction fuels my passion for photography and keeps me going.

become a portrait photographer – how to take various types of portraits

you can experiment with various types of portraiture such as formal shots in a studio where the subject is captured frontal or on an angle. This would be the easiest if you have the studio set up ready to go , and the client prepared for the photography session, in terms of clothig, hair or make up. The difficulty increases when you need to create a portrait of someone in their environment and you intend to capture the personality and mood. This can happen in their home or place of work surrounded by elememnts belonging to thier life. This portrait is richer in content, and more interesting. As a professional portrait photographer you need to have the ability to deliver that very essence of someone’s personality.

Portrait poses ideas

Many people ask what poses ideas should they explore and I recommend to disobey all rules, and give it a shot. Keep shooting and some images will be good. ask you subject to move, act, react , smile, stay serios, turn around, hug someone. It will help you and him/her relax and revela theri personality.

If oustide, I always ask people to jump, run, roll. If I keep shoting all the time I can guarantee I will get the perfect portrait. For one hour session, I end up to have over 400 images and it is highly likely one is an interesting portrait.

For few portrait ideas you can visit the Tudor Photography website for a wide variety of poses
